So weird!

Most of my posts lately have just been shopping? So here's a card I made in class.

Oh, you know, stuff

I used iMovie for the first time last week & made a video of my bike ride around town. Not a lot of people out at 6AM on a Sunday.

Do I want to order this mug? Yes. Yes I do. The real question is HOW MANY??

I gave up sweets for lent.

What a silly thing to do. I got cake on the brain.

I am going to put this on a handkerchief, I think.

Burger Math

So, my boyfriend loves hamburgers the same way I love unicorns. Which is to say, very much and also not at all. It's a love born from irony. So I have made him many hamburger things.

I have made him a hamburger ice-breaker button:

and a more festive, embroidered one:

I even had this T-shirt made:

So, he's gotta lotta hamburger crafts, which brings me to my latest. I have never stitched on apparel before, and it was about time. You can only have so many tea towels.

HAMBURGER GANGS!! They be throwin' pickles at old ladies and loiterin' at our Sonics!

THE FLAME GRILLED MENACE!!

ENHANCE.

ENHANCE.

Embroidering with yarn on something as smushy as a sweatshirt was like, the most comfortable crafting ever. I wanted to hug it and sleep on it. I liked using it because it wasn't so important that it look... um... particularly skillful. I mean, it's a hamburger hoodie. If it looks a little wonky, it only adds to it's charm. Crappy charm.

He's done!

I finished my Burt Reynolds bookmark. I could have sworn I saw a pattern somewhere for this, but I couldn't find one. ANYWHERE ( provided anywhere means a quick google search ). I thought this was AMERICA. There are already Charlie Sheen x-stitch patterns but no naked, hairy Burts.

So I made my own.

ENHANCE.

Add a santa hat and bam, Christmas present.

I kinda laughed the entire time I was making this, but now it's time to start a new project!

Enter the $4 kit:

Not my style, you might say? You would be right. I'm gonna hack it. haha.

X-STITCH HAX0R.

Check it.

That is supposed to be fire, btw. Not flowers. There has been some confusion.

Ahahahahaha

It's done.

So, I saw this.

and then I saw all of these

So I knew I had to cross stitch it. Of course I did. Who DOESN'T need a Thom Yorke lotus flower pee-pee dance sampler? NO ONE.

Ahahahahahaha Aww yeah. Looks pretty good.

Here's my pattern

OK, So.

I have been embroidering buttons lately, because tea towels are just so... I dunno. They're a strange combination between kind of large for something that should have such an uncomplicated image.

You don't want to use something that took 40 hours to make to clean up bullshit spills. Whereas buttons are teeny tiny! And no matter how much extra work you put into them, they still couldn't take much more than like, 5 hours, maybe. If you suck.

This guy might get some sort of pentagram behind him. I think this took like, 4 hours? I dunno, I watched The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo whilst stitching so I'm not sure how much time was actually spent working and how much time was spent reading about hacking & butt sex.

French knots (the filling on the sunglasses here) took me forever to figure out. Now that I've got it down, I have no gol darn clue what took me so long. I love them.

Tim was sad because I gave the sunglasses one away. Maybe I'll make one with Elton John glasses.

DAVID BOWIE!

DAVID BOWIE CORNHOLE!

Best birthday game, right? I was partly inspired by this Kate Beaton comic, which I am obsessed with.

I have been BUSY

with the 'broiderin. I call this guy Mr. Chubby Hooves. Cute, right?

Scanning makes it look a little weird (and yellowish) but I am too lazy to charge my camera and find some light. Our house has many, many curtains. It is very dark. It's a dark house. When it's nice outside (like it is right now) it feels like our front door opens out onto the sun.

Mr. Chubby Hooves looks like he needs some art on his butt. But what? (what what, in the butt?) I was thinking maybe some hearts but his EYES are already hearts and I don't want it to look like he has:
1. Eyes on his butt.
2. Butt on his eyes.

More embroid'ries

It's supposed to be a surfboard... but... didn't quite turn out that way.

Takin' Care of Burgers!

ahaha. I'm hilarious. I might make more and put them on etsy... for a MILLION DOLLARS.
